Hansa Hirani
With an educational background of a BSc Hons in Pharmacology and having graduated in 1991 from Kings College London, my first ever job was as a Trainee Chartered Accountant at Hillier Hopkins LLP for 12 months, where I first decided to join the financial services industry in 1994.
From November 1999 - February 2000, Alliance & Leicester (now Santander) sponsored me to sit the initial Financial Planning CeFA exams, which I completed all within 3 months and passed with Merits, whilst working, heavily pregnant, and a one-year-old child in tow. This intrigued me to think that I had finally found my niche.
I was offered the position of a Financial Planner in 2001 upon my return from maternity leave. I accepted this position reluctantly having a young family but I hit the ground running, and I have never looked back since.
I was approached by St. James's Place and was offered to join their Partnership, as a Partner in January 2010, and this is where I began to run my own practice in financial planning. At St. James's Place, I carried on studying, achieving the Chartered status with Fellowship within 12-18 months, which was no mean feat, especially with a teenage family and elderly not so well parents around me, and a business in full swing.
My current Senior Partner Practice has been operating since 2009, and it consists of a robust team, of whom I am immensely proud of and feel very blessed to have, as they are hardworking, loyal, dynamic and a very competent bunch of individuals. Besides positively impacting the financial well-being of my clients, my passion is also embedded with transparency, good morals, values, and ethics.
